The apostle James put it like this. “Pure and undefiled religion is to visit orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unspotted by the word.” Quite so.

For many years, Romanian Ministries has had a program of supporting elderly widows in Romania. Their stories of husbands predeceasing them certainly held their own sadness, and we were glad to help. In recent years, however, three widows additionally came to our attention for whom the loss was both sudden and tragic.
